Bill Deal & The Rhondels were a trumpet-laden white band who specialized in R&B covers. They had three top forty hits, all in 1969.

Known as "Motown's best-kept secret," the Originals provided uncredited backing vocals on numerous hits--including "What Becomes of the Broken Hearted," "A Place in the Sun," and "25 Miles"--before they recorded a smash of their own.

Peggy Scott & Jo Jo Benson cracked the pop top forty three times in 1968 and ‘69. Starting in 1996, the former (as Peggy Scott-Adams) enjoyed a highly successful solo career.
